Majorie Taylor Greene, the bad apple that fuels the far-right conspiracy theorists

Majorie Taylor Greene’s is part of the reason why on January 6th people came and violently attacked the Capitol.

You might be asking yourself who Marjorie Taylor Green is and how she contributed to the actions that were taken on January 6, 2021 in the U.S. Capitol. Majorie Taylor Greene is a U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 14th district. She is known for her wild conspiracy theories and her beliefs. She also supports QAnon, she believes that shootings were actually staged and she supports violence as she has shown on her social media.

Ms. Greene believes that she is doing the right thing by grabbing people’s attention and saying things that aren’t true but she believes is. One of them being her belief that she is in support of the QAnon. She and other supporters believe that the ones that are running this are Democrats being Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and George Soros, and some celebrities. She is letting others know about her and other conspiracy theories and how this starts to get people’s attention. This is how people start to believe things that might not even be true.

Majorie Taylor Greene has said that if the shootings that happened in Newtown, Connecticut, and Parkland, Florida, actually happened. She makes it seem as if they were all a setup and they were all staged. This also ties up that she believes that 9/11 was all staged by the U.S. government.

She doesn’t just stop there with her ideas and theories, she also posts on her social media and this is where she tends to grab people’s attention. Last February in 2019, Ms. Greene posted a 90 minute video telling protesters that they have the right to attack the Capitol and if needed they are able to use violence. Ms. Greene insists, “It doesn’t have to go that way that it can be peaceful but if it is needed then there should be violence because we own those buildings and that they are public”.

Even though this video was posted in 2019 it still shows how it started to connect to what happened on January 6. It shows how she uses her own rhetoric to capture people’s attention especially those who support her and believe what she says. Her own ideas make others believe that it is okay to attack and use violence if it is necessary.

But this isn’t all she does to prove her point and prove that she is right. Somehow she thinks that Trump supporters were not the ones that organized the attacks at the Capital. She mentions this in a thread on her Twitter page. She wrote, “The Capitol attack was planned and organized, NOT incited at the moment by President Trump, and NO Republican Member was involved. We were ALL victims that day. And once again, Trump is the victim of the never ending hate fueled witch hunt.”

As she says in her tweet she is defending herself as a Republican but also others that they had nothing to do with what happened at the Capitol. As we have seen through the media she was involved with her actions of words but also other Republicans have shown it with their actions and words as well.

With all that she has been doing and continue doing after the attack at the Capitol, The House of Representatives has decided to remove her from her committee assignments. Although Majorie Taylor Greene regretted her views before the vote, it had no effect on the decision of the U.S. House of Representatives. These are the actions they chose to take because of all the conspiracy theories she has said and all the violence she has supported including her own actions she has done.

The attack on January 6, 2021 at the Capitol, the bad apple being Majorie Taylor Greene contributed with her conspiracy theories catching people’s attention and getting them to be on her side. It resulted in becoming a bigger problem in which others were involved, lives were lost and others were put at risk. Her actions were seen and the people with power in the House of Representatives did not like what she was up to even before the attack.

Although she was removed from her committee assignments, we just have to see what the future holds for us in this country by making more changes to make it a better place. We now know what Majorie Taylor Greene has done to come to this situation but now we just have to wait and see what else will happen.

We have to try and understand that it isn’t easy for everyone but people are making the best out of this situation.
